Get To Know Me

About Me !
Hello! My name is Melena and I am a senior at the University of Cincinnati in the College of Allied Health Sciences. I am majoring in Health Sciences on a Pre-Physician Assistant track and have a minor in Chemistry. Take some time to look around and learn more about me and my time at the University of Cincinnati! I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and chose to stay to embrace all that I new the UC and the city of Cincinnati had to offer. During my time in college I have strived to follow in the words of philosopher Socrates and "focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new." Through embracing change and I have been successful throughout my time here and continue to work on fulfilling my goals of success, continue in my thirst for knowledge, and embracing new opportunities. My interminable passion for helping others and mastering new skills have thrived and grown as I started and continue my work in health care as a medical assistant. I hope to continue shape my unabating passions as I work to become a Physician Assistant. As my time at UC comes to an end I find myself indebted to those such as my family, professors, advisors, mentors, and more who have helped and supported me. I will use all they have done for me and taught me to move forward through life improving myself but also striving to improve the world around me..

Hobbies & Interests
For as long as I can remember I have a love for books and reading. Some of my personal favorites are Looking for Alaska by John Green and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I find the messages indespensible and can be far reaching across many different audiences. I enjoy listening to music and can enjoy music of all genres. Despite my vasts interests in various genres my favorite is R&B.

Sports have always been one of my favorite hobbies and activities. I have played volleyball for most of my life. One of my most valuable and transforming experiences has been playing volleyball. I am forever grateful that I was able to bring that to college with me. A few of the many skills that I have learned from this sport are communication, team work, time management, and organization.

Some of the other things that I enjoy are road trips and sunsets, and there are many included in this portfolio so I hope you enjoy! I find family time irreplaceable. Finally, I love to travel. On top of my career and medical aspirations, I hope to be able to travel and see more of the world.
